Electrical Field Service Engineer
Role Overview
As a Field Service Engineer specialising in Motors, Generators, Medium Voltage products, and/or Mechanical Power Transmission, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing, repair, and ongoing service maintenance of these products at customer sites throughout the UK. You will act as a technical expert, delivering high-quality service while ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Perform installation, commissioning, testing, maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of electrical and electromechanical equipment on customer sites
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues both remotely and on-site
Carry out technical modifications and improvements to enhance equipment performance
Create and maintain commissioning, testing, and maintenance protocols and documentation
Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during service interventions
Provide after-hours/on-call support when required
Report service work, customer feedback, and improvement suggestions in a timely manner
Maintain close communication with the service coordinator, work planner, and the wider Electrification team
Promote and adhere to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental practices
Qualifications & Experience Required
Electrical Engineer (or Electromechanical Engineer) with a strong interest in and affinity for mechanical engineering
Proven hands-on experience in the servicing, maintenance, commissioning, and repair of industrial electrical plant/equipment (motors, generators, MV switchgear, drives, or mechanical power transmission systems highly advantageous)
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, or a closely related discipline - or demonstrable equivalent experience
Strong commitment to safe working practices and full compliance with health & safety regulations
Full UK driving licence
Willingness to travel throughout the UK and work away from home when required
Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
