Role Overview
A multi-skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production machinery within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. The role is primarily electrically biased (60%) with mechanical responsibilities (40%), ensuring maximum equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and compliance with food safety and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical (60%)
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production and packaging machinery
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems
Work with control panels, sensors, drives, and PLC systems
Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring electrical issues
Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant safety regulations
Mechanical (40%)
Perform mechanical maintenance on conveyors, motors, belts, and gearboxes
Assist with breakdown repairs to minimise production downtime
Carry out routine inspections and equipment servicing
Support installation and commissioning of new machinery
Skills & Experience Required
Electrically biased engineer with strong fault-finding ability
Experience within manufacturing (food/FMCG preferred)
Knowledge of PLC systems and automated machinery
Good understanding of mechanical systems and components
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
