NEOS Engineering are partnered with a well-established manufacturing business in the timber sector, on the lookout for a hands-on Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Newbridge-on-Wye. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a strong electrical background who enjoys being part of a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
You’ll be joining a structured and supportive engineering team, working on a 3-week rotating shift pattern (Mornings, Afternoons & Nights – no Saturdays, only 1 Sunday in 3) with plenty of paid overtime available (x1.5 after 39 hours and x2 on Sundays!).
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out electrical maintenance and repairs across sawmilling and biomass facilities.
Tackle breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime and maximise site output.
Work across a variety of equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks.
Support continuous improvement and small-scale installation projects.
Fault-find and diagnose issues with single-phase, three-phase, and control circuits.
Assist with the development of apprentices and junior team members where needed.
Requirements:
Strong electrical background with hands-on engineering experience.
Confident fault-finding and working on three-phase motors and industrial systems.
Good understanding of preventative maintenance systems and safe working practices.
Team player with solid communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Advantageous (but not essential): PLC knowledge (e.g. Siemens, Beckhoff), 17th or 18th Edition, basic computer literacy (Word/Excel).
