We're an agency recruiting on behalf of a leading company committed to innovation and excellence in all aspects of their operations. They are looking for dedicated and proactive Electrical Maintenance Engineers to join their Maintenance Team.
The Role
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and site-wide electrical installations. You'll be responsible for maintaining high-quality electrical systems, performing essential repairs, and conducting planned maintenance tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of production practices to effectively support various departments, undertake projects, and implement new installations, all while upholding the highest standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Fault finding during production to minimize downtime.
Performing both planned and predictive maintenance.
Assessing and managing the need for spare parts.
Effectively planning and prioritizing your workload.
Ensuring optimal use of resources.
Operating in line with relevant legislation, company policy, and procedures.
Completing and maintaining accurate, timely documentation and records.
Maintaining high housekeeping standards.
Supporting other teams and functions as required.
Engaging in self-development activities.
Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and practices.
Liaising with coordinators to establish requirements.
Adhering strictly to health and safety procedures and policies.
Contributing to the ongoing improvement of factory equipment and maintenance.
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Working to lean theory and practicing 5S principles.
Utilizing computer equipment for data purposes.
You'll also support other departments and collaborate with external professionals to enhance production facilities, reduce costly breakdowns, and develop strategies for improving overall reliability and safety of plant and production processes. A crucial part of this role involves encouraging, motivating, and supporting apprentices.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a time-served Electrical Maintenance Engineer (or equivalent) with a proven track record in a similar role and environment.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team without direct supervision.
Proficiency in operating computer equipment for data.
Ability to read engineering drawings and quality plans.
Skilled in using a variety of measuring equipment.
A methodical approach to systems and a strong understanding of standards.
Confidence to make decisions and implement changes within defined boundaries.
Excellent personal organization skills, especially under pressure.
Strong time management abilities.
Good verbal communication and listening skills.
Ability to read and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions.
Ability to work to tight deadlines.
A natural ability to develop, encourage, motivate, and mentor apprentices.
Capable of working across different sites.
Committed to maintaining and improving effective working practices, housekeeping, and health and safety standards.
Ability to safely handle materials.
Experience & Knowledge:
Previous experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
A good working knowledge of factory processes and technology.
Experience in improving and maintaining quality standards.
Knowledge of PLC AC drives and servo drives.
Familiarity with all types of factory equipment, including CNC machines, conventional machines, and associated plant.
Experience with planned and preventive maintenance.
Knowledge of robots is advantageous.
Multi-skilled in basic mechanical practices.
Welding skills are preferred.
Foundry experience is desirable.
Qualifications:
Must be a time-served engineer (or have an equivalent qualification).
A UK Driving Licence is essential.

Hours of Work
This is a 38-hour per week role with a requirement for flexibility across various shifts:
4 weeks rotation of 2 weeks day shift then 2 weeks twilight shift
Day shift
Mon to Thurs 07:30 am – 16:15 pm
Fri 07:30 am – 12:30 pm
Twilight Shift
Mon to Thurs 15:30 pm – 23:30 pm
Fri 12:00 pm – 18:00 pm
Rate of Pay
£18.93 per hour + £5.23 per hour on top for Twilight shift
