Job Description

Manpower is partnering with a leading manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer Location: Wigan Hours: Monday - Friday (3-shift rotation) Salary: £47,000 plus plenty of overtime available We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a dynamic maintenance team at a well-established manufacturing business serving the building and highways industry. You'll work on a variety of equipment, play a key role in keeping production running smoothly, and have excellent opportunities to grow your career in a supportive environment. Working Hours This role operates on an 8-hour, 3-shift rotation: Your Role & Impact Carry out planned preventive and reactive electrical maintenance on production machinery and site systems. Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring safe and timely resolutions. Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, SCADA, HMI, and automation systems (Siemens, Rockwell - Allen Bradley, GE, Mitsubishi, and Omron). Perform system backups, modifications, integrations, and upgrades across controls and instrumentation. Work with inverters, 3-phase motors, and site-wide electrical systems. Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and electrical safety checks. Collaborate with the production team to minimise downtime and improve efficiency. Maintain accurate records of all electrical work, in line with compliance and safety standards. Liaise with external contractors where required. Required Skills & Experience Proven electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Experience with PLC systems, automation, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering). Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to call-outs/shifts when required.
