Our Client is a successful, award-winning, family-owned food business, specialising in artisan, organic and ethically sourced flours and foods, operating over a portfolio of loved brands. Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting for a “electrically biased” Maintenance Engineer on a permanent basis, where for the right person there will be huge potential for progression within the business. As their Maintenance Engineer, you will assist in the maintenance (planned, preventative and breakdown) of all machinery and equipment to ensure their smooth and efficient operation.
On offer to the successful applicant is a competitive annual salary (albeit based on relevant experience), together with a choice as to what fixed shift you work i.e. days or nights, and a full benefits package, to include a staff discount of 50% on all product lines.
Detailed duties and responsibilities will be:
Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, this position would see you;
Attending to all electrical breakdowns, and assisting in machinery adjustments.
Diagnosing and repairing faults.
Maintaining machinery maintenance programmes and records.
Providing holiday/sickness cover.
Deputising for the Chief Engineer and assisting with clerical matters as required.
Completing all documentation relevant to the position.
Liaising with Managers to help with implementing and enforcing company policies and procedures.
Compliance with relevant UK law.
Assisting in maintaining an inventory of spare parts.
Keeping the workshop in a clean and tidy condition and controlling tools on site.
Maintaining and improving building fabric.You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Should ideally have a sound educational background, better still be qualified with a City & Guilds/NVQ/HND and/or Degree in an engineering/maintenance related discipline.
Should be an experienced “electrically biased” Maintenance Engineer.
You should have excellent communication, IT, and analytical skills.
You should have a “customer-first” attitude.
You should be personable and have a positive personality.It’s great if you also have the following:
Skills in Welding and Fabrication work.
Basic mechanical engineering knowledge.
Previous food industry experience, but this is not essential.This position is available with immediate effect.
