Electrical Maintenance Technician

Location: Commutable from Edinburgh, Livingston, Falkirk and Hamilton (Surrounding Areas)
Salary: Circa £40,000 - £41,000, rising to £46,000 - £48,000 after 3 months
Shift Pattern: 3-Shift Rotation (Moving to 4 on, 4 off Continental Shifts after training)

First Achieve Engineering Recrutiment team are assisting in recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join a leading manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled maintenance team responsible for keeping a world-class manufacturing facility running at peak performance.

Following an initial three-month training period on a rotating Monday to Friday shift pattern, you'll transition onto a 4 on, 4 off continental shift pattern, increasing your salary to circa £46,000 - £48,000 per annum.

The Role

As part of the maintenance team, you'll carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across a wide range of manufacturing equipment, helping to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned, preventative and reactive electrical maintenance.
Diagnose faults and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns.
Maintain and repair forging presses, furnaces, CNC machinery and plant equipment.
Support electrical installations, testing and commissioning activities.
Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve electrical faults.

What We're Looking For

Time-served Electrician with City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent.
Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and electrical installations.
Knowledge of safe working practices and electrical regulations.
Good IT and communication skills.
Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces when required.
Experience with medium-voltage distribution systems is advantageous.
