Salary: up to £53,000
On behalf of our client, a global leader in hygiene and health manufacturing, we are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic team at their state-of-the-art Prudhoe facility.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some of the UK’s most recognisable consumer brands, in a high-performing, 24/7 operation. The site comprises two paper machines, seven converting lines, and a recycling plant—offering a rich and varied technical environment.
The Role
This is a shift-based, permanent position designed to support work-life balance. The role follows a 12-hour rotating shift pattern: 4-on/6-off and 4-on/4-off.
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you’ll be responsible for the swift resolution of breakdowns and performance issues across the factory—including the paper mill, deinking plant, converting operations, logistics and service functions. You’ll gain hands-on experience with a broad range of equipment and systems in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
*
Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of equipment failures
*
Promote and embed a preventative maintenance culture across shift teams
*
Ensure all work is completed to safety and quality standards
*
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and site-wide projects
*
Provide input into hazard reduction and equipment safety enhancements
About You
*
Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship
*
Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments
*
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
*
Proactive, self-motivated, and safety-focused
*
Ideally qualified to HNC level (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
*
Knowledge of process control systems, inverter drives, and Siemens PLCs is highly desirable
