Job Title: Electrical Production Engineer

Overview
A position has arisen within the Production Engineering Department for an Electrical Production Engineer. The successful candidate will provide technical electrical support across all production areas, working to improve reliability, resolve breakdowns, and develop and validate electrical systems for new and existing machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support to all production departments on electrical systems.
Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and line stoppages, ensuring minimal production downtime.
Test and validate new machine options, including electrical functional checks.
Prepare modification requests for design changes, including updates to electrical circuits and loom harnesses.
Develop and maintain electrical assembly process documentation and check sheets.
Support testing and evaluation of new machines and production equipment.
Specify, design, and commission electrical test rigs as required.
Identify and implement risk and safety improvements within electrical systems.
Provide technical support to the Service and Quality Assurance (QA) departments.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
Apprentice-trained in an electrical engineering discipline.
Qualified Electrical Engineer with recognised credentials (e.g., 18th Edition, HNC in Electrical Engineering).
Proven industrial electrical experience.
IT literate, proficient in all Microsoft Office packages.
Strong self-motivation, organisation, and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
A sound understanding of electrical engineering principles.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across all skill levels.
Desirable Criteria:
Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
Knowledge of inverter drive systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical circuit drawings and ladder diagrams.
Skilled in fault finding using electrical diagnostics, I/O, and PLC systems.
Awareness of risk assessment and health & safety practices.
Experience in defining and documenting assembly procedures.
Project planning and management capability.
Familiarity with electrical inspection and test methods.
Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems for fault diagnosis.
Ability to implement process and productivity improvements
