Job Description

Technical Project Engineer About the Role We are looking for a Technical Project Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team, responsible for the technical design and project execution of medium-voltage equipment across a range of projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer who enjoys combining technical engineering, project management and customer interaction. You will take ownership of projects from initial design through to final delivery, ensuring that technical, commercial, quality and schedule requirements are met. Working closely with engineering, production, deployment and quality teams, you will develop tailored technical solutions and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Lead the engineering design and technical execution of medium-voltage equipment projects. Manage projects from initial design through to final delivery. Produce engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation. Develop and review technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards. Provide technical support during Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and customer technical reviews. Communicate technical information clearly to customers and internal stakeholders. Coordinate project activities and monitor progress against agreed timescales, budgets and quality requirements. Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans. Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, deployment and quality teams to ensure smooth project execution. Support the resolution of technical issues throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure project deliverables are completed accurately, on time and to the required quality standards. Contribute to continuous improvement across engineering and project delivery processes. About You The successful candidate will ideally have: A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering or a related technical discipline. Previous experience working with medium-voltage equipment, switchgear, protection systems or transformers. Strong knowledge of electrical protection schemes, control circuits and engineering documentation. Experience managing or coordinating multiple engineering projects. Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills. The ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience using CAD packages such as AutoCAD or EPLAN. Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and customer technical reviews. Knowledge of relevant IEC and BS EN standards. Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2 or PMP would be advantageous.
