Electrical Project Manager

About the role

We’re supporting a commercial refurbishment programme within the education sector and are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to lead electrical delivery on a busy school refurbishment project. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, proven leadership capability, and the ability to oversee electrical works from planning through to completion while ensuring safety, quality, and programme compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all electrical elements of the school refurbishment project, managing site teams and subcontractors
• Review drawings, specifications, and design documentation; ensure all works are delivered in line with project requirements
• Conduct regular inspections and maintain strict quality control of installations
• Coordinate closely with the site manager, project manager, and wider project team to ensure seamless delivery
• Lead on Health & Safety compliance: RAMS, PPE, safe systems of work, safeguarding requirements in an education environment
• Review test & inspection certification, commissioning paperwork, and ensure compliance with regulations
• Manage project progress, identify and mitigate risks or delays, and report updates to senior management
• Support snagging, defect resolution, and handover documentation
• Maintain accurate project records including daily/weekly reports, labour tracking, and material usage

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Senior Electrical Supervisor
• Proven experience delivering electrical works on commercial refurbishment projects, ideally within the education sector
• Valid ECS/CSCS (ECS Gold Card preferred)
• SSSTS / SMSTS
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple work fronts
