The Opportunity
One of the UK’s top 3 main contractors is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join their team on a major £250M data centre/power station scheme in Ballycoolin. This is a high-profile project that has been underway for 18 months, with 2 other successful data centre builds recently completed in the area.
This role will be site-based and focused on delivering the electrical packages to the highest standards, ensuring program, quality, and compliance targets are met across the board. The project is currently progressing through major MEP installation phases.
Key Responsibilities
*
Oversee and manage all electrical aspects of the data centre project on site.
*
Coordinate with internal teams, specialist subcontractors, and client representatives.
*
Ensure all works are delivered in line with design specifications, safety standards, and programme deadlines.
*
Review and manage electrical drawings, technical submissions, and commissioning plans.
*
Lead weekly progress meetings and report regularly to the senior leadership team.
*
Drive quality assurance, testing and commissioning, and final handover procedures.
*
Identify and mitigate risks and technical challenges proactively.
*
Ensure documentation and compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety and environmental standards.
Requirements
*
Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager on large-scale industrial or mission-critical schemes — ideally data centres, power stations, or pharmaceutical facilities.
*
Strong understanding of electrical systems, infrastructure, containment, cabling, and commissioning processes.
*
Experience working with Tier 1 main contractors or specialist MEP subcontractors.
*
Ability to manage complex installation and commissioning programmes.
*
Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
*
Relevant electrical qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
*
Valid Safe Pass and other site safety certifications preferred.
