Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two experienced Electrical Shift Leads to join a key team based at Stansted Airport. This is a pivotal role for organised, process-driven individuals who can take ownership of electrical activities and lead by example.
Key Responsibilities
As an Electrical Shift Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical services on site. Your duties will include:
Leading on all electrical works across the airport (LV only - no HV).
Prioritising and allocating workloads (P1-P5) to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Carrying out dynamic risk assessments, signing permits, and managing subcontractors.
Ensuring all works are accurately recorded and closed out in the Maximo system, including taking and uploading photos.
Overseeing a variety of work, from emergency lighting and plant room activities to general facilities tasks.
Adopting a hands-on approach when required - including stepping in to resolve issues such as a blocked toilet during busy periods.
Driving a process-led culture, ensuring the team follows correct procedures and uses PDAs properly.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking individuals with a strong electrical background and the ability to lead a team in a structured, process-driven environment.
✅ 18th Edition qualified (or 17th Edition with willingness to complete 18th - training provided)
✅ 2391 (Inspection & Testing) qualification
✅ Previous experience in an electrical maintenance or shift lead role
✅ Excellent organisational and communication skills
✅ Comfortable leading and working hands-on
✅ Experience with permit systems, risk assessments, and CAFM systems (Maximo desirable)
This role would particularly suit ex-Forces candidates who are regimented, follow process, and lead by example.
