Job Description
Freelance Electrical Site Manager – New Build Industrial Units (Chippenham)
Location: Chippenham
Duration: Approx. 7 months
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Competitive (DOE)
The Opportunity:
We’re currently seeking an experienced Freelance Electrical Site Manager to take the lead on a new build industrial units project in Chippenham. The project consists of 5 small industrial units, and is expected to run for approximately 7 months.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a well-established Electrical Contractor known for delivering high-quality installations across the commercial and industrial sectors.
Your Role:
As the Electrical Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring all electrical works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards. You’ll act as the primary site lead with support from a visiting Contracts Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage all on-site electrical activities
* Coordinate with sub-contractors, suppliers, and other trades
* Ensure adherence to H&S policies and RAMS
* Monitor progress against programme and report updates
* Quality control and snag management
* Liaise with the Contracts Manager and client representatives
* Maintain accurate site records and documentation
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an Electrical Site Manager on similar new build projects
* Strong understanding of industrial electrical installations
* SMSTS or SSSTS (essential)
* ECS/JIB card (Gold preferred)
* First Aid at Work (desirable)
* Strong organisational and leadership skills
* Ability to work autonomously and manage site operatives effectively
