Job Description

Site Manager – Must have Electrical experience. Roles and responsibilities: Project Oversight 1. Site Supervision: Oversee all on-site activities, including land preparation, foundation works, panel installation and electrical connections. 2. Workforce Management: Manage and coordinate site workers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow. 3. Scheduling and Planning: Develop and maintain the construction schedule, ensuring timely completion of each phase. Quality Assurance 1. Installation Standards: Ensure all installations comply with technical drawings, manufacturer guidelines, and industry standards. 2. Inspection and Testing: Supervise the testing of PV modules, inverters, and electrical systems to verify functionality and efficiency. 3. Compliance: Ensure adherence to local building codes, environmental regulations, and project specifications. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) 1. Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, minimizing risks to personnel and equipment. 2. Risk Assessments: Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate hazards. 3. Environmental Management: Ensure that site activities minimize environmental impact, such as managing soil erosion or protecting local flora and fauna. Resource and Budget Management 1. Materials Coordination: Monitor the delivery, storage and usage of solar panels, inverters, mounting structures and cables. 2. Budget Oversight: Track expenditures and optimise resource allocation to stay within budget. 3. Equipment Management: Supervise the proper use and maintenance of machinery and tools. Stakeholder Communication 1. Client Liaison: Provide regular updates on progress, challenges, and solutions to the project owner or client. 2. Coordination with Engineers: Collaborate with electrical and civil engineers to address technical challenges. 3. Reporting: Maintain detailed records of progress, delays, and completed milestones. Problem-Solving 1. On-Site Challenges: Address unexpected issues, such as adverse weather, supply chain disruptions, or equipment malfunctions. 2. Conflict Resolution: Manage disputes among team members or subcontractors. Commissioning and Handover 1. System Testing: Ensure the system's functionality by conducting performance testing of PV modules and inverters. 2. Handover Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and as-built documentation for the client. Training: Provide basic training for the operations team on the system's maintenance and functionality
