Job Description
Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for an Electrical Supervisor to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.
Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression.
We are looking for an Electrical Supervisor who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.
As the Electrical Supervsior, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.
The Electrical Supervisor, will be responsible for:
* Leading and supporting a team to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed daily, weekly, and monthly.
* Plan and carry out regular maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, with a focus on avoiding any disruptions to the building’s operations.
* Check and monitor all key equipment and systems in the building to keep the environment safe for everyone using it.
* Quickly find and fix problems with equipment to prevent bigger issues.
* Carry out both scheduled and occasional maintenance tasks following safety standards and best practices.
* Make sure all safety and legal certificates are up to date, correctly stored, and easy to access.
* Communicate with suppliers and contractors to get parts or repairs done, using the system that tracks planned and urgent maintenance tasks.
* Work with other teams to ensure outside contractors are working safely and properly. This includes checking their work plans and giving them permission to start.
* Communicate with other outside organisations to help keep services running smoothly.
* Follow any instructions related to maintenance work or specific building needs.
* Make sure all urgent repair requests are logged through the correct system and completed on time.
* Respond quickly to emergencies or breakdowns, and fix any faults to keep the building running without interruption. This may sometimes involve working outside normal hours.
To be successful for this Electrical Supervisor role you must have:
* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in Building Services or Facilities Management.
* At least 5 years in a supervisory role leading technical teams.
* Experience working in safe and compliant environments.
* Able to lead and supervise teams effectively.
* Good spoken and written communication.
* Confident working with all levels of staff and management.
* Strong planning, organising and problem-solving skills.
* Experience supporting safety meetings, audits, and inspections.
* Able to write clear and accurate technical reports.
* Comfortable using IT systems (especially Microsoft Office and Maximo or similar CAFM systems).
* City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering / Building Services (or equivalent).
* IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition (BS7671:2018).
* Health & Safety qualification – minimum IOSH Managing Safely.
* ACOP L8 Legionella Responsible Person certification.
* High Voltage Authorised Person training.
