Electrical Technician

£25,000 - £27,000 + Local Government Pension Scheme + 27 Days Holiday + Permanent Role + Stable Hours

Cambridge & Huntingdon (Commutable from: Ely, St Neots, Newmarket, Royston, St Ives, Cambourne, Histon)

Are you an Electrical Technician looking for a stable, hands-on role with consistent hours and long-term security?

This is a permanent position with a Further Education employer, offering a secure role where you can focus on doing good work without constant change. You'll be part of a team supporting learners with well-prepared, safe, well-maintained workshop environments.

You'll join a department where Health & Safety, organisation and high standards are taken seriously, with varied practical tasks from maintenance through to building and refurbishing training rigs and teaching aids.

You'll work across the Cambridge and Huntingdon sites, maintaining and repairing electrical installation equipment, preparing tools and materials for practical sessions, supporting staff during delivery, and managing stock and inventory records.

This role suits a job satisfaction motivated person who wants stability, a settled routine, and a reliable employer rather than a "fast-track" progression role.

The Role:

Maintain, repair and prepare electrical installation workshop equipment across Cambridge & Huntingdon
 Support practical delivery: set-ups, demonstrations, teaching aids, wiring rigs and task boards
 37 hours per week, full year; occasional weekend open days/evenings as required

The Person:

Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification / NVQ (or equivalent)
 Hands-on experience in an Electrical Installations environment (or relevant trade experience)
 Current Health & Safety knowledge within the electrical industry
