Pay: £47,000.00-£48,000.00 per year Job description: Job Title: Electrically biased multi skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Gillingham Working hours: Treble shift pattern (W1: 0600AM - 1430PM, W2: 0145AM - 2215PM, W3: 2200PM - 0630AM) Pay: £47,500 Job Description: We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to join our client who is a manufacturing company based in Gillingham. This position is integral to ensuring the efficient and uninterrupted operation of production machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, repair, and the installation of new parts or equipment, all aimed at improving machine efficiency, reliability, and safety. You will report to the Engineering Manager to maintain high operational standards and work collaboratively with the production team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong Electro-Mechanical background, with an electrical bias. This role is essential to the manufacturing processes' continuous operation and improvement Key Responsibilities: ● Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production machinery to ensure optimal machine performance and reduce downtime. ● Diagnose and repair equipment faults quickly and effectively to minimize operational disruption. ● Conduct quality inspections to ensure high manufacturing standards are met. ● Collaborate with senior production team members to identify maintenance needs and process improvements. ● Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment ● Work with the purchasing department to order necessary spare parts, ensuring that minimum stock levels are maintained for critical components. ● Organize the timely calibration of production measuring equipment and maintain accurate records for ISO audits and compliance. ● Assist in special assignments or projects as directed by the Production Manager, aimed at improving machine performance, process efficiency, safety, and quality. Desired Qualifications & Skills: ● Educational Background: ideally a qualification in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or appropriate apprenticeship. ● Certifications: Ideally Certified in 18th Edition Electrical Course or equivalent. ● Experience: Proven experience in a maintenance role ● Technical Knowledge: Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge, including motors, drives, gearboxes, pneumatics, and PLC systems. ● Diagnostic Skills: Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic abilities. ● Physical Ability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. ● Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams across departments. ● Safety Knowledge: A solid understanding of health and safety practices, with the ability to implement and enforce safe working practices for personal and team safety. ● Flexibility: Willingness to undertake special assignments and projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, safety, and quality.
