Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of an established and growing fire & Security business for an experienced Small Works Engineer to join their team.

The role will predominantly involve small electrical works, emergency lighting installations and replacements, and the installation/replacement of fused spurs, with the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects. You will be expected to travel to sites within London/M25

The ideal candidate will be a skilled and reliable electrician who is comfortable working independently and representing the company professionally when working on client sites.

Key Responsibilities

  * Installation, replacement and maintenance of emergency lighting systems

  * Installation and replacement of fused spurs

  * Carrying out general electrical small works

  * Electrical fault finding and basic diagnostics

  * Testing and inspection of completed works

  * Completing relevant paperwork and job sheets accurately

  * Identifying additional works and reporting requirements to management

  * Working to current electrical regulations and company standards

  * Liaising professionally with clients and site contacts

  * Maintaining a high standard of health & safety at all times

  * Travelling to various commercial sites as required

Desirable Experience

Ideally, you will have experience with:

  * Emergency lighting – installation, replacement and testing

  * Fused spurs and general small electrical works

  * Commercial electrical installations

  * Fault finding

  * Fire alarm systems – installation, maintenance or basic fault finding would be highly advantageous

  * Working independently across multiple client sites

Essential Requirements

  * Qualified electrician with relevant electrical qualifications

  * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

  * ECS Gold Card

  * Full UK Driving Licence

  * Previous experience within a commercial electrical environment

  * Good understanding of electrical health & safety requirements

  * Professional approach and good communication skills

  * Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
