Job Description
Electrician - Social Housing Maintenance
Location: Barnsley
Salary: £38,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Vehicle: Company van provided
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our Reactive Maintenance Division within the Wates team. This role is based in Barnsley and focuses on delivering high-quality electrical repairs within social housing.
Role Overview:
You will be responsible for delivering electrical repair and renewal works in domestic properties across the Barnsley area. Your work will contribute to maintaining high standards of workmanship, ensuring first-time fix rates, and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake electrical repairs and renewals in line with regulations and technical standards
Ensure all works are compliant with Health & Safety and safeguarding requirements
Liaise with residents, schedulers, and line managers effectively
Work collaboratively with other trades to complete tasks efficiently
Keep up to date with legal and technical requirements of the role
Accurately complete time sheets and job records via PDA
Manage your workload and deliver tasks independently
Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent (essential)
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Previous experience in housing maintenance or a similar role preferred
Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
