We have a current opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join our clients engineering team at thier Inverness site, working across a Dayshift/Backshift rota.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective operation of all electrical systems across the factory, yard, and office areas.This position demands a proactive, technically skilled individual who is committed to safety, continuous improvement, and thrives in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Repair and troubleshoot electrical breakdowns throughout the plant
Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical equipment
Work collaboratively within a multi-skilled engineering team
Install, commission, and modify equipment and services as required
Ensure all maintenance and modification documentation is kept up to date
Identify and report equipment faults or signs of failure
Follow safe isolation/de-isolation procedures in line with permit-to-work protocols
Support other engineering tasks as directed by the Electrical Supervisor
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and engineering discipline
Essential Requirements:
City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
Proven experience in industrial maintenance
Working knowledge of PLC systems – ideally Allen Bradley 5/40 or Siemens Step 5
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Willingness to work towards achieving 18th Edition certification
Ability to work without supervision
Flexibility to cover for shift electricians as needed
Strong time management and communication skills
Ability to influence and collaborate across teams
Good understanding of health & safety and engineering best practices
