We need an 18th Edition Qualified Electrician, Location: Home-based, visiting client sites | Paid door to door.
Basic Salary: £37,500 - £45,000 (£50,000 to £60,000 on target earnings)
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
We are open to considering candidates based in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Derby, and Stoke-on-Trent, as well as surrounding areas. Ideally, applicants will be located along the M6 or M1 corridors north of Birmingham, ensuring good accessibility to sites and clients.
The company Location: Springhill, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire (You will be home-based. This is a field service position that requires travelling to client sites.)
A leading specialist in the design, installation, and maintenance of fuel storage and dispensing systems. We also provide full-service maintenance for tanks, pumps, gauges, and fuel management systems, including fuel testing, cleaning, and decommissioning. RDCO-registered operator with the ability to uplift fuel for resale or disposal.
Position Overview
We need a qualified and experienced 18th Edition Electrician to join our team. The role involves electrical installations, testing, and maintenance in line with IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) across commercial and industrial projects. You will work on reactive maintenance, planned preventative work, and new installations for a diverse client base.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work to 18th Edition standards
Inspect, test, and certify electrical installations using appropriate tools and equipment
Diagnose electrical faults and perform corrective action efficiently
Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and company procedures
Complete and maintain accurate job records, test certificates, and other documentation
Liaise with site managers, project teams, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
Travel to various client sites as required
Working Hours
Contracted hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday to Friday
Optional overtime on Saturdays (as workloads allow)
Pay and Overtime
Salary: £37,500 - £45,000 (£50,000 to £60,000 on target earnings)
Overtime rates: x1.5 (Mon–Sat) available work, x2 (Sundays & Bank Holidays – rarely worked)
Some engineers work 50–60 hours/week when required
Travel & Expenses
Paid door-to-door travel to customer sites

Required Qualifications & Experience
City & Guilds 2382-18 (18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations)
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing (preferred but not essential)
ECS/JIB Gold Card (or working towards it)
Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical environments
Full UK driving licence
Desirable Skills & Attributes
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
Strong communication skills; able to work independently or in a team
Flexible and proactive approach to work
Willingness to undertake additional training (e.g., EV chargers, ATEX, CompEx)
