Job Description

Job Title: Electrician Location: Bracknell Salary: £26 P/H Hours: 40 hours P/W Purpose of the Role To undertake safe and effective electrical works—including repairs, installations, servicing, and inspection & testing—across our clients housing stock. The role ensures properties are maintained to a high standard and in a timely manner, with a strong focus on achieving and maintaining exceptional levels of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Carry out safe electrical work within designated timeframes, adhering to priority schedules and striving for first-time fixes while remaining compliant. Identify and repair electrical faults, including full domestic rewiring, in line with Abri standards. Liaise professionally with customers and colleagues to communicate job progress; escalate complex cases to senior staff as required. Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety legislation, company policies, and BS7671 standards, including appropriate use of PPE and equipment. Interpret technical drawings and specifications to plan job requirements and requisition necessary materials. Support the Planned Works team with full electrical installations for bathrooms, kitchens, and complete property rewires. Participate in the out-of-hours emergency call-out rota to respond to urgent electrical issues. Maintain company vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition; carry out regular safety checks and report defects promptly. Assist in the development and support of apprentices and trainees where required. Perform any other duties commensurate with the role.Person Specification Essential Skills & Qualifications Qualified Electrician with Achievement Measurement 2. City & Guilds certifications in: 2391 (Inspection & Testing) 2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2351, or 2330 Levels 2 and 3 NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation Work or equivalent. Practical knowledge of current BS7671 regulations and experience in inspection, testing, and commissioning. Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training with adequate hands-on experience. Full UK driving licence with ability to travel efficiently to customer locations (some of which may not be accessible by public transport). Good IT proficiency and excellent customer service skills.Desirable City & Guilds 2394 or 2395 in initial verification, certification, and periodic inspection/testing.Additional Information This role is subject to a Basic DBS Check.
