Salary: £40,000 - £44,000 per annum
We're seeking a skilled Electrician to join a long-term social housing maintenance programme, delivered on behalf of the local council. In this role, you'll carry out a range of electrical repairs and installations across council-owned properties, helping ensure safe, reliable, and well-maintained homes for residents.
Responsibilities:
Carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance, and installations across occupied and void social housing properties.
Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults in domestic settings, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Installing and maintaining lighting systems, sockets, switches, consumer units, and other domestic electrical components.
Conducting periodic inspection and testing of electrical systems in line with current regulations (e.g., EICRs).
Ensuring all work complies with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and relevant health and safety legislation.
Completing all required documentation, including job sheets, certificates, and compliance records.
Liaising professionally with tenants, site managers, and other trades to ensure smooth delivery of services.
Responding to emergency call-outs and urgent repairs as required.
Maintaining tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good working order.
Following company procedures and upholding high standards of workmanship and customer service.Requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence
JIB Gold Card or working towards it, with supporting evidence required.
BS 7671: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installations
City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing
