Electrical Service Engineer / Approved Electrician
Location: Wolverhampton

On behalf of our client, Think Recruitment are seeking an experienced Electrician to join a leading electrical services company operating across secure government sites.
Pay (Negotiable DOE):
Electrician Level 3: £16.84/hr
Electrician: £17.68/hr
Approved Electrician: £19.32/hr
Benefits Include:
Overtime pay:
18:00-21:00: 1.5x
21:00-06:00: 2x + following day off
On-call rota (1 in 6 weeks): £100/week + minimum 3 hours paid per call
Company vehicle (fully maintained)
Phone allowance
20 days holiday plus bank holidays
Pension scheme
Permanent contract offered after 6-month probation
Work allocated via PDA/tablet

The Opportunity
Think Recruitment are working in partnership with a well-established electrical contractor delivering key services to the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) and Ministry of Defence (MoD) across the Midlands.
We are now recruiting for a Mobile Electrical Service Engineer / Approved Electrician to carry out maintenance, installation, and fault-finding across various secure sites.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical servicing, maintenance, and installation
Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults
Completing small works and remedial projects
Participating in an on-call rota (1 in every 6 weeks)
Maintaining accurate records and reports
Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times
Liaising with clients and internal teams to ensure high-quality delivery
Essential Requirements
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (minimum NVQ2 considered)
Valid CSCS card
Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points)
Enhanced DBS check (to be completed before starting)
IT literacy (PDA/tablet-based job management)
Experience in high-security or customer-focused environments
Strong communication, organisation, and planning skills
Desirable (Training Can Be Provided)
Familiarity with fire alarm systems (Gent, Notifier, Advanced)
Experience with emergency lighting and disabled refuge systems
Asbestos Awareness
First Aid, IPAF, PASMA
Manual Handling, Working at Height, Ladder Safety
