Are you an experienced Field Service or Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in electronic systems and a passion for travel? Rapid Personnel is seeking an Electronic Commissioning Engineer to support a global leader in maritime jet propulsion systems across the EMEA region.
In this dynamic, field-based role, you will be the face of cutting-edge marine propulsion technology—working hands-on with ship owners, operators, and shipyards to install, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain high-performance waterjet propulsion systems. Expect a varied and rewarding role where no two days or locations are the same.
Key Responsibilities:
* On-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced marine jet propulsion systems.
* Provide expert technical support to customers during sea trials, upgrades, and fault resolution.
* Diagnose issues with electronic control systems using diagnostic tools and software.
* Deliver high standards of customer service and technical documentation.
* Liaise with internal engineering teams to feedback performance data and service insights.
Candidate Requirements:
Education:
* UK Level 5 qualification or higher (e.g., HND, Foundation Degree) in Electronics, Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience:
* At least 3 years in a Field Service/Commissioning Engineer role—marine industry experience is ideal.
* Candidates with relevant backgrounds in military, aerospace, or automotive industries are also encouraged to apply.
Technical Proficiency:
* Strong working knowledge of electronic control systems.
* Familiarity with mechanical drive systems, hydraulics, and bearings.
Core Skills:
* Proven troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities.
* Proficient with diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical documentation.
* Clear, confident communicator—able to translate complex information to customers and teams.
* A positive, proactive approach to problem-solving and client support.
Flexibility:
* Willing and able to travel extensively across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
* Comfortable working aboard vessels, shipyards, and remote sites under varying conditions.
