About the Role:
Join a high-performing Test Architect team and contribute as a subject matter expert across all stages of the missile test process. This role is ideal for technically-driven engineers with experience in electronic circuit design, testing, failure analysis, and test equipment design. You will be involved in feasibility studies, series production, and in-service support for missile programmes, helping define test strategies, BIT architectures, and improving testability across projects.
Reporting to the Test and Testability Department Head and, from a project perspective, to the Project Chief Design Engineer, this role provides scope to grow technical expertise, lead work packages, and influence test and testability strategy across multiple programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
Define project test strategies and Built-In Test (BIT) architectures
Develop and maintain technical requirements for test equipment
Analyse production test data to identify trends and diagnose failures
Participate in Red-Team reviews and support critical issue resolution
Support new product bid activities and departmental strategy
Mentor and actively support team members
Lead or participate in technical work packages and manage associated risks
Provide technical leadership and influence senior stakeholdersWhat We're Looking For:
Degree-level education (or equivalent) with significant experience in electronic test across all project lifecycle stages
Expertise in electronic circuit design, testing, and failure analysis techniques
Experience in test equipment design and requirements capture
Knowledge of Design for Testability (DfT)
Ability to lead technical work packages alongside project managers
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive technical direction
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Willingness to travel within the UK and EU as required
What We Offer:
Salary: Circa £72,000 depending on experience
Company Bonus: Up to 27% of base salary
Car allowance: £300 per month
Pension: Up to 14% total contribution (employer + employee)
