Job Description

PCB Design Engineer - Contract (6 months, likely to extend) - London (Greenwich) On-site 3 days per week | Start date: September 2025 (ideally) Umbrella rates up to £55.00 per hour We're looking for an experienced PCB Design Engineer to join a high-profile engineering project developing advanced power feeding equipment that supports subsea systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on complex, multi-layer PCB designs within a collaborative and forward-thinking engineering environment. This role is suited to someone with proven experience in PCB design (rather than someone seeking their first step into this area). We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where every team member can thrive. What you'll be doing: * Turning circuit schematics into detailed PCB layouts using Altium Designer (essential) and/or Zuken CR5000 (desirable - training provided if needed). * Designing multi-layer, high-speed and power PCBs, optimised for signal integrity, thermal management, and power distribution. * Producing Gerber files, BOMs, and fabrication drawings for manufacturing. * Ensuring compliance with IPC, IEEE, and DFM/DFT guidelines. * Partnering closely with hardware engineers, mechanical teams and manufacturers to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions. * Leading design reviews, troubleshooting, and prototype validation. * Keeping pace with new tools, trends, and standards in PCB design. What we're looking for: * Solid PCB design experience in Altium Designer (non-negotiable); Zuken experience a bonus. * Proven ability to deliver complex, multi-layer PCB designs (high-speed, power electronics). * Knowledge of signal integrity, power distribution, and thermal considerations. * Understanding of manufacturability and testability (DFx) best practices. * Familiarity with IEC-(phone number removed) safety standards (creepage/clearance). * Strong collaboration and communication skills. * Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electronics / Electrical Engineering. Why join us? * Work on cutting-edge technology powering global undersea communication networks. * Be part of an inclusive, supportive environment that values diversity and different perspectives. * Flexibility built-in: while we ask for three days on-site, we understand life happens and will accommodate where we can. * A contract with the likelihood of extension - giving you stability while working on impactful projects. 🔹 Contract type: 6 months (likely to extend up to 12 months) 🔹 Hourly rate: Umbrella rates up to £55.00 🔹 Location: On-site 3 days per week (flexible around this where needed) 🔹 Start date: Late August / early September 2025 If you're an experienced PCB Design Engineer looking for your next contract where your skills will be valued and your contributions will make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you
