Electronics Engineer

Are you an Electronics Engineer looking for a role where you can work across a broad range of technologies and solve complex engineering challenges?
We're working with an established technology business developing high-performance engineering products, and they're looking to expand their electronics engineering team.
This is an opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary engineering environment working across electronics, control systems, motors, power supplies, sensors, software and mechanical systems. You'll be involved throughout the design lifecycle, from developing new concepts through to testing, qualification and fault finding.
The Role
You'll be responsible for the design, development, testing and improvement of electronic systems, helping to improve product performance, reliability and efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing ideas to improve product design, functionality, performance and reliability.
Designing and developing electronic systems and components.
Testing designs and products for characterisation and qualification.
Researching, specifying, testing and evaluating new technologies and components.
Creating and maintaining schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
Liaising with manufacturing teams during assembly and testing.
Developing effective test methods and best practices.
Conducting failure analysis and fault finding.
Supporting design decisions through calculations, simulations and practical testing.
Producing technical reports and communicating findings to stakeholders.
About You
You'll ideally have:
A degree in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience designing and developing electronic systems.
Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer.
Good understanding of analogue and digital electronics.
Strong practical testing and fault-finding skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable Experience
Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:
LTspice or SIMetrix
Microcontrollers
ADCs, Flash and EEPROM
Sensors including accelerometers, magnetometers and gyros
Switch-mode power supplies (SMPS)
AC generators
Motors and motor controllers, particularly BLDC
Control systems and algorithms
