Electronics Test Equipment Engineer - Contract (Inside IR35)
Pitstone, Buckinghamshire - On-site
£40 - £50 per hour (flexible for the right person)
6-month initial contract - strong potential to extend long-term or go permanent
We're seeking a talented Electronics Test Equipment Engineer to join our on-site team in Pitstone, supporting the design, development, and maintenance of advanced aerospace production test equipment. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly contribute to ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.
What you'll be doing:
Design, commission, and maintain test equipment hardware and software for aerospace applications
Develop and modify LabVIEW (or alternative) code to meet project needs
Work closely with outsourced suppliers to integrate and commission test software
Produce and maintain test specifications, documentation, and instructions for operators
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) activities
Apply root cause analysis and continuous improvement to boost test process efficiency and product yield
Procure, build, and commission new test equipment and supplementary test circuits
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure robust testing coverage
What we're looking for:
Proven experience in an engineering environment with hands-on design or test work
Strong electronics knowledge, including wiring and power systems
Understanding of hydraulic circuits
LabVIEW software development and verification experience
Engineering qualifications relevant to electronics or test systems
CAD skills (schematic capture and mechanical drawings) a plus
Knowledge of Generator Control Unit (GCU) and Power Distribution Box operation beneficial
Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
