Mechanical Fitter
Immingham
£28.66 per hour umbrella – 40 hours a week
Working 4 days a week
Initial 6-month contract
We are seeking Mechanical Fitters or Mechanical Technicians who are looking to advance their careers to become Locomotive Technicians for a rail freight company, based at their site in Immingham – helping to keep the rail network moving as well as being a key player in the UK and European supply chain.
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have experience in a heavy engineering environment carrying out mechanical fitting and maintenance and repairs on large vehicles, heavy plant, diesel motors or machinery!
Do you have experience or working with hydraulics and pneumatics in a heavy plant environment!
Perhaps you are ex-forces or in the forces looking to join civilian life, then this could be the opportunity you have been looking for!
Your New Opportunity
You will have a great opportunity of building your skills on safety critical rail vehicles, carrying out maintenance and repairs to a large fleet of vehicles such as locomotive and wagons.
Your New Organisation
You will have a fantastic opportunity to work for the UK’s largest rail freight company who are responsible for transporting everything from Cereals to Petroleum and steel.
You will work out of the site in Immingham where hundreds of trains are maintained yearly.
The Candidate
You will be comfortable with maintenance procedures, and have previous experience of servicing vehicles, carrying out repairs and fault finding
You will have a mechanical background but understand electricals, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles.
You will be able to complete engineering instructions, follow strict guidelines and work to written specifications set by our client on how they wish for their rail vehicles to be maintained.
As part of the above there will be full training on the systems and procedures that you will be required to carry out.
Essential
You will need to have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent to qualify for this role, this doesn't have to be a rail specific NVQ but will need to be one of a mechanical engineering-based nature.
This vacancy is an immediate requirement, and immediate start is available for the right candidate.
Desirable
Previous experience in a similar role, so if you have worked on heavy plant machinery, HGV’s, buses, PSV, large vans, cars, or you come from a military background then this could be the role for you
