Job Description

Deputy Payroll Manager (EMEA) Location: Colchester (Hybrid – 3 days office, 2 days remote) Salary: Competitive + Benefits A leading organisation with a strong international presence is seeking an experienced Deputy Payroll Manager to play a pivotal part in overseeing payroll operations across multiple countries in the EMEA region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. The Role Reporting to the EMEA Payroll Manager, you will help manage payroll delivery across multiple countries and payrolls, working closely with external providers, HR, and Finance. You will be responsible for ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance with legislation, strong controls, and efficient reporting, while also deputising for the Payroll Operations Manager and supporting a team of payroll specialists. Key Responsibilities Oversee accurate and timely processing of multiple EMEA payrolls with external bureaus. Conduct compliance checks, payroll audits, and month-end reporting. Manage payroll funding, third-party payments, and HMRC reconciliations. Lead payroll analysis and KPI reporting for senior management. Support system administration, interfaces, and data integrity. Act as deputy to the Payroll Manager, providing leadership and guidance to the payroll team. Drive process improvements and ensure best practices in payroll governance.About You Significant payroll experience in a complex, multinational environment. Hands-on experience with EMEA payrolls and managing external providers. Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, and reporting. Excellent Excel skills (e.g., XLOOKUP, data analysis). Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across HR and Finance.
