Emergency Preparedness Team Member Shift Times: Full Time, Monday - Friday Pay Rate: £18.18 per hour Location: Morecambe LA3 2XQ Do you enjoy and want to develop your experience of taking ownership of a task and consider yourself to have a can-do attitude? Do you want experience of developing, planning, and delivering emergency exercises? We are looking for the right person, to join our Quality Management group as a member of the Emergency Preparedness Team at Heysham 1. The Opportunity Resilient emergency arrangements are an essential part of operating a nuclear power station and you will be a key member of our team in maintaining the success of this function. As a member of the Emergency Preparedness Team, you will assist with providing the Heysham 1 management with assurance that adequate management system arrangements are in place to protect the business concerning compliance with Company policies, standards and processes, Nuclear Site Licence Conditions and any other Legal Requirements What you will be doing: You will be responsible for assisting the EPE in managing the station's emergency arrangements and ensuring an effective response is available for a variety of potential incidents, ranging from nuclear and chemical to environmental and security. As part of the Emergency Preparedness (EP) team your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining adequate emergency arrangements in relation to: Annual emergency exercise planning Scenario development Exercise preparation, logistics & delivery Exercise debriefs, lessons learnt, opex briefs Identification of training needs & support training delivery Liaise with/support emergency equipment owners Manage Emergency Scheme succession planningAlongside assisting the EPE with: Liaison with fleet and role specific peer group Liaison with local authority & emergency services Liaison with External Stakeholders Prepare EPRG packs, minutes etc Development & oversight of EP maintenance & enhancement plan Maintenance of Heysham 1 Emergency Handbook Additional Development Benefits Opportunities to improve & build on leadership & communication skills Exposure to internal forums - senior management forums, training committees, fleet forums Exposure to external stakeholders - regulators, auditors, WANO, emergency services, councils Building networks and collaborating with multiple departments across the station in planning, writing and delivering demonstration and shift exercises Project management, including collaboration between functions Develop a wider understanding of regulatory and licence requirements Develop your skills in reviewing, approving & amending documentation Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications You will gain experience in developing and managing relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, internally and externally alongside the EPE. Therefore, you will need good communication and influencing skills as well as demonstrating effective teamwork, sharing responsibility with the ability to support and motivate others across all levels of seniority
