Job Description

Our client is seeking a dedicated Tutor to deliver engaging, high-quality learning to students on their Study Programme. This role involves planning and delivering lessons, assessing progress against National Occupational Standards, and supporting learners to achieve their qualifications on time. Many students will have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs) or requiring additional learning support. Main Duties & Responsibilities: * Design, deliver, and review study programmes that meet the standards of Awarding Organisations, funding requirements, and Ofsted expectations. * Carry out thorough initial assessments for all learners, ensuring accurate recording of results to guide Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and the RARPA process. * Develop and maintain personalised learning plans in line with individual targets and EHCP outcomes. * Ensure students are correctly registered with Awarding Bodies, assessments are completed and quality assured, and certificates are issued promptly on achievement. * Place learners on the correct level for English and maths, track their progress, and arrange necessary testing. * Work with colleagues to produce and adapt learning resources. * Offer Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) to support learners’ future plans and transitions. * Mark and assess learner work, providing clear, constructive feedback to encourage development. * Monitor attendance closely, addressing concerns quickly through communication with learners, staff, and other stakeholders. * Ensure all delivery complies with ESFA regulations and government policies. * Provide students with the full tutorial entitlement. * Organise meaningful work experience opportunities and maintain regular contact with employers through workplace visits and reviews. * Engage parents, carers, and relevant agencies in discussions about learner progress, both informally and at events. * Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment, promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety at all times. * Contribute to ongoing quality improvement processes, including the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). * Take part in standardisation sessions, team meetings, and resource development activities. * Liaise with Lead Body Verifiers and other relevant bodies, sharing important updates with management. Additional Expectations: * Deliver tailored learning to high-needs students, ensuring they have the tools, support, and confidence to meet their goals. * Teach both vocational (hard) skills and personal development (soft) skills to suit learner requirements. * Regularly refresh course materials to reflect current awarding body and Ofsted requirements. * Foster a positive, open, and achievement-focused culture. * Maintain clear, honest, and collaborative communication across all levels
