This role is focused on fostering a positive, legally compliant, and productive work environment through effective employee relations strategies. The position involves providing expert guidance on HR policies and practices, supporting management and employees, and leading on employee-related matters across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies and initiatives that support positive working relationships and a healthy workplace culture.
Provide support and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment practices.
Lead and manage employee relations casework, including the investigation and resolution of grievances, conflicts, and performance issues.
Monitor and ensure compliance with employment law, advising on updates and their impact.
Facilitate discussions between employees and management to resolve conflict and promote open communication.
Deliver training and coaching to managers on topics such as conflict resolution, performance management, and employee relations.
Analyse data from employee relations cases, exit interviews, and engagement feedback to identify trends and propose solutions.
Collaborate with colleagues across HR, Diversity & Inclusion, and leadership to ensure consistent application of policies and disciplinary procedures.
Prepare reports and insights for senior leadership on employee relations activity and risk areas.
Proactively support initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and morale.
Maintain accurate, confidential records and documentation of employee relations matters.
Support broader HR activity as needed, acting as a knowledgeable generalist when required.
Candidate Profile:
Strong experience in employee relations, ideally in a business partner or advisory role.
Proven management capability, with confidence in handling complex casework and influencing senior stakeholders.
In-depth knowledge of employment law, HR policy, and employee relations best practice.
Skilled in conflict resolution, mediation, and conducting fair, objective investigations.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels.
Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion.
Competent in using HR systems and tools for reporting and case management.
Degree in HR, business, or a related field is desirable, as are professional qualifications in employee relations or mediation.
