Role: Employment Advisor
Location: South Yorkshire
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Salary: £16 - £20.50 (dependent on pay status)

Our client is a values-led organisation committed to supporting people who face adversity, helping them build brighter futures through employment, training and holistic support. Working in partnership with other services and employers across South Yorkshire, they deliver strengths-based, trauma-informed support to individuals experiencing multiple barriers to employment, such as homelessness, a history of offending, or long-term unemployment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a caseload of clients who may face complex barriers such as homelessness, a history of offending, or long-term unemployment
• Provide one-to-one, tailored advice and guidance to help clients build confidence, develop skills and access sustainable employment, training or education opportunities
• Design and deliver engaging group workshops and employability sessions focused on CV writing, interview skills, job searching and workplace expectations
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with local employers, training providers and partner agencies to develop clear progression pathways
• Promote the service through outreach, networking and community engagement, ensuring those most in need are reached and supported
• Maintain high-quality, accurate case notes and evidence to demonstrate progress, outcomes and service impact in line with Matrix standards
• Contribute to a multi-agency approach by attending case reviews and strategic partnership meetings as required
• Support the continuous improvement of the project by sharing learning, feedback and best practice with the wider team
Requirements:
• Proven experience supporting individuals into meaningful and sustained employment
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and work to targets
• A trauma-informed, person-centred approach to working with individuals experiencing disadvantage
• Strong understanding of the current labour market, employment rights and quality employment practices
• Excellent interpersonal and IT skills, including database management and Microsoft Office
• Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in Advice and Guidance or willingness to work towards this
• DBS issued within the last 12 months or registered on the update service would be advantageous
• Full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle is highly desirable
