Employment Specialist
Location: Carlisle
Salary: £28,383 – £31,683 per annum
Contract: Full-time (37 hours per week), fixed term until March 2028
About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Employment Specialist to join our Connect to Work programme. In this role, you’ll support individuals with disabilities or health conditions to move into and sustain meaningful employment using the Individual Placement & Support (IPS) model.
You’ll manage a caseload of around 25 clients, providing tailored, person-centred support while building strong relationships with local employers to create opportunities. This is a highly rewarding role where you’ll make a tangible difference to people’s lives.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Deliver high-quality information, advice and guidance (IAG) to support clients into employment
* Manage a caseload of approximately 25 clients, offering tailored, person-centred support
* Build strong relationships with local employers to identify and secure job opportunities
* Proactively source vacancies, including hidden opportunities, through employer engagement
* Support clients both in and out of the workplace to ensure sustainable employment outcomes
* Work collaboratively with partners including health services, Jobcentre Plus, and community organisations
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using a CRM system
* Meet programme targets, KPIs, and IPS fidelity standards
* Identify individuals at risk of losing employment and provide early intervention support
* Gather feedback from clients, employers, and partners to continuously improve service delivery
What We’re Looking For
* Experience supporting individuals into employment, training, or education
* Strong relationship-building skills with both clients and employers
* A person-centred, empathetic approach
* Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet targets
* Confidence working with a range of stakeholders, including health professionals and external partners
* Good organisational and administrative skills, including CRM usage
* Understanding of barriers faced by individuals with disabilities or health conditions (desirable)

* Follow all organisational policies and procedures
* Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults
* Contribute to an inclusive and respectful working environment
* Occasionally work outside normal office hours when required
* Undertake other duties appropriate to the role
