Job Title: Enforcement Officer
📍 Location: Havering, RM1
🕒 Hours: 36 hours per week
📅 Contract Dates: 27/07/2025 – ongoing
💷 Pay Rate: £20.27 per hour
⏰ Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (shift patterns apply including 2 weekends per month)

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and resilient Enforcement Officer to join the Public Protection & Enforcement Team within the London Borough of Havering. This is a dynamic front-line role where you’ll be responsible for investigating and resolving a wide range of public and environmental issues to ensure the borough remains a safe, clean, and welcoming place for residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities Include:

Addressing issues such as rough sleeping, anti-social behaviour, environmental crime, public nuisance, and highway infringements
*
Undertaking licensing and regulatory enforcement across a range of council services
*
Conducting on-street patrols, investigations, and engaging directly with members of the public
*
Working collaboratively with internal departments and external partners including police and community safety teams
*
Preparing evidence and reports for potential legal proceedings where necessary
*
Maintaining accurate records and adhering to enforcement protocols and procedures
What We’re Looking For:
*
Experience in enforcement, community safety, or a similar public-facing role
*
Confident communicator with excellent conflict resolution and decision-making skills
*
Knowledge of relevant legislation, including public protection, environmental health, and anti-social behaviour regulations
*
Ability to work shift patterns, including weekends twice a month
*
A strong sense of professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to public service
