We are recruiting on behalf of a prestigious and well-established manufacturer of Health & Beauty Products. Due to their continued growth, development and demand they are seeking to employ an Engineering/Setter for their Thetford site.
The company is an established, creative, and growing manufacturer of personal care and cosmetic products including the skincare, haircare, tanning, baby, and perfume categories.
They work with some of the world’s biggest brand owners, contract manufacturing household brands, and we also manufacture own label product for some of the UK’s biggest retailers.
Hours will be 5.30am – 3pm Monday to Friday
With a 1-hour unpaid break

Job Purpose:
To set up the production line accurately according to specification and to ensure the smooth and efficient running of that line without any deviation.
To ensure that all machines are maintained to a level which maintains production output.
Duties:
Include but are not limited to the following areas:
Set up production line according to the specification.
Loading components (bottle, roller balls, caps etc.) as listed in the specification.
Setting up the nozzles to the correct fill level, to achieve the specified weight.
Setting the capping machine to the torque specified.
Choosing and loading front and back labels, examples of which are included in the specification. Ensuring that the bar codes are correct.
Help the Line Operatives to keep the line running.
Direct line service regarding correct components/labels etc.
Change label reels when they run out.
Take away pallets of products when finished and check that they are packed as detailed in the specification.
When the product container is running out, obtain a new container and switch over when necessary.
When not otherwise engaged, tidy up around the production line, and reload bottles on the line that have been removed when changing labels, or have been rejected and sent back.
Perform hourly weight checks and bottle counts to ensure that any deviations from the specification are spotted within an hour, rather than at the end of a batch / day.
Ensure a smooth changeover when switching products.
Flush the lines, filler tank, filter and nozzles with water or alcohol as appropriate, as per the cleaning procedure.
Bring in a container of the new product, checking I/codes.
Bring in boxes of the new components, as detailed in the specification.
Set up the fill levels and cap torque as detailed in the specification.
Ensure all lines are running at the optimum.
Ensure machines are maintained, and all safety features are working.
Breakdowns are reported to engineering as soon as possible or repaired by yourself if able.
Health and safety is everybody’s responsibility.
Maintain a happy working environment for all.
Production plan must be fulfilled in full.
To ensure Health and Safety is paramount in everything you do.
Help train other team members, on all the above.
Provide guidance and support to the engineering department, specifically relating to problem areas within the department and potentially improvements, and to help the engineer as and when required.
If the Engineer is absent, or busy elsewhere, the ability to step in and carry out repairs as required.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Engineering qualification (for example Level 3 BTEC or City and Guilds diploma) with experience in an operational engineering role
Experience of working within a manufacturing environment
Excellent attention to detail
Strong manual dexterity
Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills
Ability to effectively delegate and motivate others
Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritise and to work well under pressure.
Must be honest, hardworking, enthusiastic, and reliable
