Job Description
Our client, a leading engineering company, is looking to hire skilled Engineering Designer (Drafter) to support the engineering team. This role involves providing critical draughting services to the engineering department, including the creation and maintenance of technical drawings, part numbers, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using MRP software.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drafting and Design:
Develop general arrangement, machining, fabrication, and proposal drawings, along with BOMs, adhering to company standards.
* Quality Assurance:
Perform dimensional checks on drawings produced by colleagues to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
* MRP Integration:
Generate and verify part numbers in MRP software, revising existing drawings and part numbers as required.
* Support Engineering Processes:
Create accurate product profiles and 3D models for engineering analysis and machine shop programming.
* Documentation and Record Keeping:
Ensure that all records are up-to-date and in line with company protocols.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering draughting and 3D modelling, with a solid understanding of how to generate accurate technical drawings. Experience with MRP software for creating part numbers and Bills of Materials (BOMs) is essential, as is a keen attention to detail and the ability to adhere to strict company standards.
