Job Description
A fantastic East Yorkshire based FMGC company are looking for a hands-on engineering leader who is required to take full ownership of the engineering function.
You will be responsible for:
Maintaining, repairing, and improving all site equipment to ensure consistent, efficient production.
Implementing and driving planned and preventative maintenance, delivering site and equipment improvements, and leading Capex activity.
Working closely with production, you will focus on reducing downtime, increasing output, and building robust in-house mechanical and electrical capability.
Manage external contractors
Establishing a fit-for-purpose maintenance workshop
As part of the senior management team, you will contribute to improving site systems, culture, GMP, quality, and overall performance.
This role demands a practical, sleeves-rolled-up approach – someone who leads from the front and thrives on being present on the factory floor.Experience Required
• Strong background in FMCG or similar fast-moving production environments
• Broad exposure to Food manufacturing equipment (e.g., boilers, pans, compressors, multi-heads, conveyors, check-weighers, metal detectors, pouch/flow wrapping machinery)
• Proven ability to design and implement preventative maintenance systems
• Competence across both mechanical and electrical disciplines
• Ability to coach and develop line leaders in basic machine operation
• Solid understanding of health and safety and regulatory compliance
Hours
• Standard: 7:00–16:00, 40 hours per week
• Flexibility required to support breakdowns and production needs (factory runs 7:00–17:00; occasional Saturday mornings)
