Engineering Project Manager Location Worcester Salary £40,000 - £46,000 per annum Benefits: Company car Company pension Cycle to work scheme Free parking On-site parking Sick pay Flexitime Monday to Friday Job description The company design and manufacture test products & systems for propulsion, power train, vehicle, and component test systems the company is undergoing a period of growth and change. The company supplies systems ranging from a new control and data logging system for an existing test cell through to a new turnkey test cell complete with dynamometer, cooling systems, measurement equipment including integrated cell support infrastructure and independent safety protection solutions. We have an opportunity for a Projects Manager/Site Manager, responsible for the planning, management, coordination and financial control of projects. The position is office based but there would be a requirement to travel and spend extended periods at customer sites. This role would be primarily suited to someone who has experience of running multi-faceted projects with a mix of internal equipment and specialist contractors. A working knowledge of CDM would be advantageous to the role, with demonstrable skills in achieving tight project schedules. Ideally you will come from a background technical discipline and developed the required commercial skills to be an effective PM. Reporting to the MD Tasks: Initiate the project - check feasibility and work out budgets, teams and resources. Carry out planning - this will include setting goals and objectives, define roles and produce schedules and timelines for tasks - in accordance with the needs of the client. Select, lead, and motivate the project team from both internal and external stakeholders. Manage the project - which includes coordinating the project team to keep them on track and keeping the project on budget. Carry out monitoring and control activities to track the progress of the project. Identify and manage risks to ensure delivery is on time. Ensure that the client is aware of the "milestone" timelines and encourage payment to Sierra once they have been fulfilled. Implement any necessary changes throughout the process. Report regularly to management and the client close the project - including evaluating successes and challenges to enhance learning for the next project. Required Qualifications: IOSH Ability to write risk assessments. COSHH Project management certification. Managing safety. Ideally SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) Personal Characteristics & Skills: Excellent planning and organisational skills (self & others). Technically minded with a solution-driven work ethic. Resilience & excellent communication skills both verbal & written at all levels. Ability to problem solve and make commercial decisions. Read & interpret engineering drawings. Deliver to tight deadlines consistently. Ability to work on own initiative. Passionate about engineering.
