Job Description

Engineering Standards & Compliance Engineer Location: Poole Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (dependent on experience) Full Time – Permanent Hybrid working option About the Role We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our Engineering team, taking responsibility for the safety and compliance of a wide range of marine assets. This role involves the development, ownership, and delivery of safety cases, the implementation of safety frameworks, and the management of regulatory compliance. You will work closely with certifying authorities and senior stakeholders to ensure all assets meet the highest safety and operational standards. About You We are looking for a motivated individual with a dynamic approach to engineering safety and compliance. You’ll bring strong communication skills and the ability to work with senior stakeholders across complex projects. To be successful, you should have: Proven experience in the ownership and development of safety cases and frameworks. Experience managing senior stakeholders, including duty holders. Formal training as a Safety Engineer, or equivalent professional experience. An accredited engineering or safety management qualification (or equivalent). Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in the development of safety cases and management of design intent. Desirable skills and experience: Engineering compliance knowledge, preferably in Workboat Code or Irish Coastguard requirements. Experience contributing to the development of regulations. Risk management training (IOSH or equivalent). Experience in designing or operating SAR or other specialist vessels. Strong background in marine design and engineering environments. Chartered or Fellow Engineer registration with the Engineering Council. Senior/Principal level experience in a relevant engineering discipline.
