Engineering Stores Person
£30,000 - £35,000 DOE
Wolverhampton
The Role:
We’re looking for an organised and proactive Stores Person to oversee inventory operations at our clients facility in Wolverhampton. You’ll be key to ensuring materials and parts are received, stored, and issued accurately and efficiently, supporting operational teams and maintaining stock integrity.
What will you be doing?

Goods Receipt & Inspection
• Unload deliveries and inspect goods against purchase orders.
• Verify quantities and report any damages or discrepancies.
*
Stock Control & Storage
• Label, categorise, and store items in designated areas (racking, shelving).
• Ensure areas are tidy, clearly signposted, and safe.
*
Issuing & Picking
• Prepare and pick items based on work orders or internal requests.
• Cross-check deliveries to production/service teams.
*
Inventory Management
• Perform regular stock counts (monthly/quarterly/annual) and reconcile variances.
• Highlight low-stock and reorder requirements to Procurement.
*
Record Keeping & Systems
• Maintain accurate stock records using SAP/Oracle Dynamics/Microsoft Navision (or similar).
• Generate relevant reports (stock levels, usage trends, shortages).
*
Maintenance & Housekeeping
• Keep warehouse areas clean and organised.
• Comply with health & safety regulations (COSHH, safe manual handling, PPE).

Continuous Improvement
• Propose process improvements to streamline stores operations.
• Assist in warehouse layout reviews to enhance efficiency.

Ad-hoc Support
• Support internal and external auditors.
• Assist with inbound/outbound deliveries and general warehouse duties.
What will you bring to the party?

Proven experience (2+ years) in warehouse or stores role, ideally within manufacturing or engineering sectors.
*
Competent in using inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Navision).
*
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and numerical accuracy.
*
Practical knowledge of health & safety, manual handling, and COSHH.
*
Comfortable using forklift trucks or pallet jacks
*
Good communication skills, team player, and comfortable working in busy environmentsBefore You Apply
