Job Description

Engineering Team Lead (Java)

75k plus a bonus of up to 20% (£90,000 package)

IntaPeople are partnered with a fintech scaleup in Cardiff city centre and are scaling up the Java team with an Engineering team lead

About the role:

This is a people leadership role where you will be managing 6-8 engineers. Your role will be focused on developing your team, setting goals and helping them to achieve milestones. 
	
You will be working on greenfield projects and although this is not a hands on coding role, you will need to be able to write code when required.
	
This role is available due to internal promotion to Engineering Manager. There is an opportunity for similar progression in the future. 
	
Tech Stack – Java 25, Spring boot, React, Postgres & AWS.

About you:

You really enjoy getting the best out of your team, you understand that different people respond better to different strategies and your pride yourself on your ability to help each individual develop their skills.
	
You are an experienced engineer with a background in technical leadership and you are able to hit the road running within an Engineering Team Lead position.
	
The team have some agentic workflows set up in Claude, so a background with agentic coding and GenAI would be ideal.
	
Hands on experience with Java (Ideally 25) building APIs and microservices with Spring Boot is essential.

Hybrid – 3 days per week in the Cardiff office
	
Salary – Up to £75,000
	
Bonus – up to 20%
	
Package – Up to £90,000
