Engineering Team Leader / Engineering Supervisor - Manufacturing
This isn’t one of those “Team Leader” jobs where you tell other people to do the real work.
This is hands-on. Tools in one hand, team in the other.
The site needs someone who can keep production moving, prevent breakdowns before they happen, and lead a small engineering team in the right way – by getting involved. You’ll be diagnosing faults, coaching the team, managing contractors, and making sure safety and compliance aren’t just tick boxes.
What you'll be doing:
Leading the site’s engineering team day-to-day/night-to-night
Hands on with maintenance, repairs, and root cause analysis
Keeping breakdowns under control with preventative maintenance
Managing contractors, spares, and budgets (the grown-up stuff)
Driving standards on safety, housekeeping, and compliance
Coaching and mentoring engineers so they don’t just chase breakdowns
What you'll need:
Solid background in mechanical/electrical engineering (bias towards electrical/control is a bonus)
Experience supervising or leading a team in a high-volume production/manufacturing environment
Confident working with contractors and suppliers
Basics in IT - Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Someone proactive, standards-driven, and not afraid to get their hands dirty
Why This Role?
You’ll have real responsibility — team, budget, kit, contractors
A fast-moving environment where your input actually matters
A chance to lead a team properly (not just manage a rota)
Solid package with support to get things done right
