Engineering Team Leader - Mechanical or Electrical Bias (Cambridgeshire)

Are you an experienced multi-skilled engineer ready to step up into a leadership role? This is a great opportunity for a technically capable engineer who enjoys working hands-on but also has the skills to lead and inspire a team. You'll join a business investing heavily in its future, playing a key role in maintaining and improving site operations.
Working a 4 on/4 off night shift pattern, you will lead a small engineering team while still being directly involved in maintenance work. You'll be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, driving continuous improvement, and supporting production to meet operational targets.

Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and supporting a team of multi-skilled engineers to deliver maintenance and improvement tasks effectively.
* Carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance in line with safety, quality, and company standards.
* Overseeing breakdown response, ensuring timely fault diagnosis and repairs to minimise downtime.
* Maintaining and improving planned preventative maintenance schedules and documentation.
* Supporting production teams with machinery-related issues and providing technical guidance.
* Assisting with contractor management, site audits, and ensuring compliance with H&S and hygiene requirements.
* Contributing to site improvement projects and helping implement engineering strategies.
About you:
* Apprentice-trained, multi-skilled engineer with a mechanical or electrical bias.
* Relevant engineering qualifications.
* Proven experience in a food, FMCG, or manufacturing environment.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Practical and solution-focused with a proactive approach.
* Committed to maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, and quality.
