Engineering Trainer / Assessor – Level 3/4 Manufacturing
Salary: £30,000-£38,000 depending on experience/assessor level
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 37 hours per week
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Trainer / Assessor to support engineering apprentices, with a particular focus on Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing.
This isn't an industry-to-teaching opportunity where assessor training can be completed later. The hiring manager is specifically looking for someone who is already A1/TAQA qualified and has an engineering qualification above Level 3.
The Role
You'll manage a caseload of engineering apprentices, carrying out workplace assessments, progress reviews and training while working closely with learners and their employers.
You'll support learners in developing their engineering knowledge, skills and behaviours, prepare them for assessment/EPA and ensure they progress through their apprenticeship on time.
The successful candidate will also help cover Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing, so we're looking for someone with strong technical engineering knowledge rather than purely assessment experience.
What We're Looking For
* A1 / TAQA / equivalent assessor qualification – essential
* Engineering qualification above Level 3 – HNC, HND, Level 4+ or equivalent
* Strong Engineering / Manufacturing background
* Experience assessing engineering apprentices
* Ability to support Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing
* Experience managing an apprenticeship caseload and working with employers
* Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to learners/employers
Previous FE or apprenticeship training experience would be particularly useful.
What's on Offer
£30,000-£38,000 depending on assessor level, permanent 37-hour contract, Teachers' Pension Scheme, 27 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and ongoing professional development.
This would suit an Engineering Assessor, Engineering Trainer/Assessor, Manufacturing Engineering Assessor or Work-Based Learning Assessor with an A1/TAQA qualification and higher-level engineering backgroundDo not include the following in your job application, CV, or cover letter:
