Teacher of English & Functional Skills (KS3-KS4) SEMH School - Bottesford Start: January 2026 | Temp to Perm | Suitable for NQTs/ECTs Are you an enthusiastic English specialist with a passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a dedicated SEMH School in Bottesford, seeking a committed Teacher of English and Functional Skills to work with KS3 and KS4 pupils. This is a full teaching role, including planning, marking, assessment and wider teaching responsibilities. The role is open to both experienced teachers and NQTs/ECTs looking to develop within a specialist setting. The Role As the English & Functional Skills Teacher, you will: Deliver engaging and differentiated English and Functional Skills lessons to KS3 and KS4 students. Plan, prepare, mark and assess work in line with full teaching expectations. Adapt lessons to meet diverse academic, emotional, and behavioural needs within an SEMH setting. Foster a calm, supportive and consistent classroom environment. Work collaboratively with an experienced pastoral team to ensure holistic support for every learner. Use creativity and resilience to re-engage pupils who may have experienced disrupted or negative prior education. What We're Looking For Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Strong understanding of SEMH needs and/or experience working with pupils with additional or complex needs. Ability to teach English and Functional Skills across KS3 and KS4. A patient, nurturing and child-centred teaching ethos. Strong communication and behaviour management skills. Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). Due to the rural location, access to your own vehicle and the ability to drive is essential. Working Hours Monday-Thursday: 08:30 - 16:30 Friday: 08:30 - 16:00 (early finish!) Perks & Benefits Breakfast and lunch provided daily for all staff. Early finish every Friday at 4:00pm. Temp to perm opportunity with a clear pathway to a permanent role.
