English Curriculum Lead - Specialist SEND School (Full-Time, Permanent or Long-Term) Location: Wellingborough Area Start Date: January 2026 or sooner Contract: Permanent or Long-Term to Permanent Are you an inspiring English teacher with the passion and expertise to lead a curriculum that truly makes a difference? Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and forward-thinking specialist SEND secondary school in the Wellingborough area, seeking an ambitious English Curriculum Lead to join their dedicated leadership team. About the Role: As English Curriculum Lead, you'll take the lead in shaping and delivering an engaging, accessible, and inclusive English curriculum tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners with special educational needs. You'll work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to raise standards, inspire creativity, and promote a love of language and literacy across the school. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced teacher ready to step into middle leadership, or an established subject lead seeking a fresh challenge within a nurturing, values-driven environment. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and evaluate the English curriculum in line with the school's ethos and learners' needs. Model outstanding teaching and provide support and guidance to colleagues. Use data and assessment to drive progress and promote literacy across all key stages. Contribute to whole-school development and lead on initiatives to raise engagement in English. Work closely with the senior leadership team to ensure continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS). Experience teaching English, ideally within a SEND or inclusive setting. Proven ability to plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons. A track record (or strong potential) for curriculum leadership. Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
